Chihuly Bowls

Artist Dale Chihuly is a famous glass artist. His pieces are stunning. This week we are going to make reproductions of his work in plastic instead of glass.  The plastic sheets are cut then gently melted to make interesting shapes, the shapes are then painted with glass paint. The finished product looks like painted glass similar to Chihuly's work.

Happy kids

The students really enjoy art class. Here they are having fun working on a extra project after finishing their big project.

Disstressed cold wax drawing

One of the lessons this week was cold distressed wax drawings.  Cold wax painted on paper then scraped away in a design, then covered with black paint then rubbed off to reveal the drawing underneath.

Art outside

Sometimes when the weather is really nice the students get to do art outside with chalk. Everyone had so much fun!
